SERVICES TO THE TRANSLATION BUSINESS COMMUNITY |
wedotranslation provides products and services to the buyers and sellers of translation products and services.
We are dedicated to advancing the business of translation
We are business people, first and foremost. Translation happens to be the business we have chosen to operate in. We've chosen the translation business because "it speaks to us". In other words, we have an affinity and liking for the use and application of the written languages. And what better business to operate in than the translation sector for people who are interested in the beauty and complexity of the world's languages? As problem solvers, we particularly relish the challenges that come with the 'territory' of translation.
We are aware that we are not alone and have made it our mission to assist others who operate in the field of translation. Since we have the benefit of an extensive sales and business background, we want to share our knowledge with others who operate and sometimes struggle in the translation business.
In essence, we want to help people in the translation business prosper. As the translation business grows, our expectation as a private company is that we shall prosper alongside with it, at least to the extent that we contribute our labour and intellectual efforts to its advancement.
We operate a translation agency
The translation business is not much different than any other business. Though, it does offer some unique challenges. To better understand these challenges and be better able to assist others in addressing them, we own and operate a successful translation agency.
As is the case with many translation concerns nowadays, our translation agency business is largely internet-based. Of course, we do have a bricks and mortar facility from which we operate our call centre; no business can operate credibly and effectively without a physical base. However, as we operate as a translation agency, our business model is such that the majority of our translation and proofreading and editing resources are widely dispersed geographically while remaining tightly connected via the internet.
Business, Translation and the Internet
We have consciously selected this model as it is our intent to build an internet business that is based on the provision of language services. As we acquire experience and expertise, we seek to share our knowledge with others. Accordingly, we are interested in hearing from anyone who may require assistance or information related to internet infrastructure in the context of the translation business. Our areas of interest and expertise encompass planning, deployment, maintenance, management, marketing and business development. Do get in touch with us.

Overview of the Global Language Landscape, Number of Internet Users and Languages in Use on the Worldwide Web
As of June 2008, approximately 1,463,632,361 people worldwide were using the Internet, according to Internet World Stats. Current and accurate data, with respect to internet usage, is somewhat elusive given the rapid growth and spread of the internet. However, useful data can be gleaned from information available in the CIA World Factbook. We feature selected data taken the CIA Factbook on the following Free Translation Classifieds categories: Translation Agencies and Translation Firms. We have listed data by commercial geographic areas in those categories, namely North America; Europe; South America; Asia; and, the Middle East. The figures are segmented for each country listed by total population numbers, languages spoken (numbers and percentages, where available) and number of internet users. The number of countries listed as well as the scope of the data was limited to markets offering commercially viable critical mass.
